***SOLD to Courtney Love/ CherryForeverReturns***
Please do not buy- this piece has already been sold- but feel free to contact me if you'd like a custom order!
Antique and vintage materials- repurposed, upcycled and new/ old stock- make this headdress priceless and unique! There are two matching beaded wrist cuffs (not shown here, I'll have a photo soon). The cuffs & the headband portion of the piece were made from a 1920s beaded belt. The belt was dry rotted so I had to re-bead it onto silk dupioni- it's fabulous!
The headdress was made to compliment this gown, permission granted by http://www.momosoho.etsy.com (thank you Maureen & Michael!)

***I SHIP TO THE ETSY SHIPPING ADDRESS, NOT PAYPAL. PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE ETSY SHIPPING ADDRESS IS CORRECT- CONTACT ME IF YOU NEED YOUR ORDER SHIPPED ELSEWHERE.***
Kindly remember that there is more to shipping than just the price on the front of the envelope. All of my items are shipped USPS first class or priority mail with delivery confirmation. Insurance is not included unless the buyer requests it (it's an additional fee- I am not responsible for items lost in the mail or confirmed delivered but not received, so please consider requesting insurance). The "handling" part of shipping is the price of the packaging, the act of packaging, and the to & from of going to the post office. Also, when you receive an item from my shop it is always wrapped with care & love, with a little added gift of some kind attached (usually a pendant on a hemp cord or a silk flower- something to that effect- it's always different). Part of the EXPERIENCE of buying from LIAISON is that when you get your package, it feels like you're opening a gift!
Enjoy & many thanks! ;)
Warmest Regards, Katherine
Liaison accepts returns within 7 days of receiving for an exchange or in-store credit only. Item must not be worn, please.
Most items are made-to-order, so please allow at least 14 days for your item to be custom created and shipped (sometimes longer depending on the depth of the order- the large, intricate performance pieces can take 6 weeks or more from receipt of payment depending on the depth and my current workload). If you need something faster for a special event, please convo me. Ready to ship items are shipped within 7 days of payment. All items are handmade by me and me alone- I am the designer, artist and craftswoman! I appreciate your patience; it's well worth the wait. ;)
PLEASE TAKE NOTE: ALL of my work consists of 100% ORIGINAL work (designs and literature). 2009© LIAISON. All Rights Reserved.
Someone broached the subject recently of "copying" taking place on Etsy. For example, cuffs- who started the trend, and does that designer "own" the trend?
A note on copyright from my lawyer...
"The (cuff, for example) design itself is an idea and is thus not copyrightable. (Usually within 24 hours of any award show knock offs of every single designer dress on that runway will be for sale online and the designers can't do a thing about it. You can't copy and sell the TV footage where you saw the dress but you can copy and sell the dress.) A drawing or a photograph of a dress design is a creative expression of that idea and is copyrightable. It cannot be directly used to construct the item as a pattern can be".
Therefore, my name, literature & photographs are protected by copyright, but the design itself is not. It's still not very nice to make an EXACT copy of someone else's work, but then again we have to ask ourselves, is it ever an EXACT copy? The fact of the matter is that clothing, being a so called "useful item", is not copyrightable.

***** A NOTE ON VINTAGE MATERIALS: I use only the finest vintage materials that I can find when creating my upcycled pieces. Please keep in mind that "Excellent Vintage Condition" isn't the same as "Excellent Brand New Condition". For example, vintage flowers from the early 1900's may have some fading or fraying and sometimes (though rarely) may have small amounts of glue residue which I usually either remove or try to mask if the flower is still in otherwise perfect shape and is GORGEOUS. Soooo, please keep this in mind when ordering upcycled vintage pieces. Thanks SO MUCH for shopping!
